OUR STORY

Hi! We’re Sammie & Mitch. We met in 2017 and 6 short months later purchased a 1982 VW Vanagon named Amadelle. The iconic VW pop-top with all original interior drew us in, but we did not realize the amount of work we had gotten into.

The next 4 years, we spent saving money working for corporations as engineers, purchasing our first home, budget traveling as much as possible, and working on improving Amadelle in our spare time. We rescued Ute, our 80-lb rez dog along the way.

In 2021, Mitch quit his job to work on Amadelle full-time. In early 2022, Sammie quit as well. We rented out our house and hit the road full-time. We are so excited to share our journey with you.

We believe in “reverse Retirement”

What is “reverse retirement”? Mitch may have invented the term, or maybe not, but it became the phrase we lived by as we were preparing to quit our jobs in our mid-20’s.

The activities we want to do now may not be possibly when we hit retirement age. We want to live NOW and experience as much as possible. Life is too short not to!
